From September 5th to 21st, the Civici Musei of Udine will host the exhibition The Color of the I - Irene Melito, curated by Emma Bagnato.
In the exhibition, Irene guides us through the infinite shades of identity and otherness: a profound journey that explores the individuality of the human being, its light and shadow, its sudden flashes, and its intimate, subtle relationships with the "other." The compositions do not aim to represent but to evoke: the patiently applied color thus becomes sound, silence, gesture, and love.

Encountering the paintings of Irene Melito is an experience of light. Light that is life for people and for the whole Earth. Light is the creative impulse that, along with shadow, generates, shapes, and gives substance to color. This includes the "color" that each Self is. Opening the doors of the "The Color of the Self" exhibition means immersing oneself in a universe where the canvas becomes a mirror of the inner self and a revelation of invisible worlds. Each work, vibrant with intense colors, is the harbinger of a fruitful encounter between souls. In the exhibition, Irene leads us through the infinite shades of identity and otherness: a profound journey that explores the individuality of the human being, its light and shadows, its sudden flashes, and its intimate, subtle relationships with the "other." The compositions do not aim to represent but to evoke: the patiently applied color thus becomes sound, silence, gesture, and love. It's a visual narrative that invites the observer to find shades of themselves in the pigment and the painterly gesture. The artist suggests a path of discovery to the visitor, where every gaze cast upon the canvas transforms into a life-giving dialogue between Selves.
The exhibition, hosted by the Civic Museums, is organized in collaboration with the City of Udine and the UNESCO Club.
