Art library

The library currently holds over 45,000 volumes and 350 periodicals, including seventy foreign titles, in its collections. These are constantly updated and cover a broad range of art subjects: archeology, the history of art (antique, modern and contemporary), painting, miniatures, sculpture, graphic design, architecture (artists' monographs, museum catalogues and exhibitions), design, photography, coins, medals, popular traditional crafts, traditional costumes, and decorative arts.

The Friulian section focuses particularly on the places and historical events that have taken place in the provincial capital.

Among the collections worthy of special mention there is the Fondo Augusto Luxardo, which focuses specifically on the theme of the First World War.

A reference library for scholars, researchers, curators and students, in 2015 the Biblioteca D’Arte became part of the Sistema Bibliotecario dell’Hinterland Udinese, the catalogue of which can be accessed online here.
